Any man who controls his mouth is literally protecting his own life. "He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life." (Proverbs 13:3a)
Those who talk too much will eventually be destroyed. "He that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:3b)
Right words can turn an angry man into a friend and wrong words can turn a friend into an enemy. "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." (Proverbs 15:11)
Your words reveal whether you are wise or a fool. "The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness." (Proverbs 15:2)
